MAGIC Foundation strives to educate the public about the important of measuring growth and overall endocrine health. Since MAGIC deals with growth disorders, many of our members' children take growth hormone. Here are some facts about growth hormone therapy that are not widely known or understood:

  • Growth is not the only thing affected by hormone replacement therapy. Growth Hormone (Somatotropin) promotes bone growth, cell production and regeneration, as well as other important functions in a healthy endocrine system.
  • Children taking growth hormone do not do so to become tall. Growth hormone therapy in children is used so that they can experience normal expected growth where there is an underlying condition inhibiting proper growth patterns.

Certain families are willing to share their personal stories in an effort to help others. However, we do have safety nets in place to protect them. 

1. You will not be given contact details- only names. Families matching your needs will be contacted by us and given your contact information.

2. We do not work with any type of media which involves disguises, sensationalism or other tactics which would be harmful to "our" children or members. If you are interested in our Educational Outreach efforts in a fair and protective way, we will work tirelessly and diligently with you. The Independent Charities Seal of Excellence is awarded to Charities of America that have, upon rigorous independent review, been able to certify, on an annual basis that they meet the highest standards of public accountability, program effectiveness, and cost effectiveness.

These standards include those required by the US Government for inclusion in the Combined Federal Campaign, probably the most exclusive fund drive in the world.
